Bethany McCorkle is a deputy director at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). She oversees general services, information technology and communications.

McCorkle previously served as the chief of communications for the department from 2012 through 2016. In her role, she implemented strategic communications and marketing initiatives for one of Ohio’s largest state agencies.

Prior to joining ODNR, McCorkle served as both a communications and marketing officer at the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD). Her communications efforts included working with national and local media to highlight department efforts and initiatives. Before joining ODOD, McCorkle spent a number of years in the private sector, most recently as a director at Worldwide Express.

McCorkle earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University where she majored in communications, marketing and promotional sales. She currently sits as chair of the Public Outreach Community for the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Committee.
