Boating Facility Grants

Boating Infrastructure Grant Program (BIG Program) - For the construction of transient mooring facilities for recreational boats 26' and over in length. Application deadline is August 1.

Clean Vessel Act Grant - For construction and renovation of waste reception facilities for recreational vessels. Application deadline is October 1.

Recreational Harbor Evaluation Program - Application deadline is April 1. You must use the revised packet (PDF [80k] or MSWord [458k]). For more information, contact Phil Miller, 614-265-6497.

Recreational Marine Loan Program - This program is available to any privately owned marina planning a project that serves the boating public. Applications are accepted at any time. Boating Safety Education Grant

The deadline for 2011 grant applications is October 1, 2010. There is a FREE workshop for applicants on August 31 in Columbus. RSVP to Mary Hughes. Navigational Aids Grant Program

Buoys and signs to mark Ohio's waterways can be provided to political subdivisions at no charge. Application deadline is November 1. You must use the revised packet (PDF [86K] or MSWord [237K]). If you are requesting to place buoys or signage on federal waters, you will need US Coast Guard permit CG-2554 [PDF; 219k] which gets mailed to ATTN: PATON; Command OAN; 9th Coast Guard District; Private Aids Rm 2083; 1240 East 9th St; Cleveland, OH 44199-2060. Marine Patrol Grants

For the establishment or operation and maintenance of marine patrols. Application deadline is December 31.
