New ODNR Historical Marker Honors U.S. Army History at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Area
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) dedicated a new historical marker at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Area which honors the role Camp Sherman had in training Army soldiers ahead of World War l. Camp Sherman, which was located near Chillicothe, opened in September 1917 and was one of 16 U.S. Army training centers at the time.

September Marks the Start of Ohio's Fall Hunting Seasons
Ohio’s hunting seasons for squirrel, dove, Canada geese, teal, and more open in early September, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Bowhunters can look forward to the start of white-tailed deer archery season later in the month.
