Contact a Service Forester

The Division of Forestry has 22 state service foresters that assist woodland owners across Ohio in maintaining healthy, productive woodlands and managing them for a variety of benefits, from wildlife habitat and quality timber, to clean water and recreation.
Service Foresters are professional foresters who work for Ohio DNR. They provide
- Technical assistance about forest management, watershed protection, insect and disease control, forest recreation, tree planting, and wildlife habitat development.
- Information on managing timber sales (including sample contracts) as well as working with private foresters and Master Loggers.
- Assistance with the Ohio Forest Tax Law and cost-share incentive programs by inspecting privately-owned forest land to determine eligibility.
State service foresters are located throughout the state. Contact information and a map of their service areas are found in the attachment.
You can also contact a private professional forester to assist you with managing your woodlands.
