Burr Oak Alive!

Burr Oak Alive! Friends Group

We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit friends group dedicated to fostering a partnership between outdoor enthusiasts, our community, and the Burr Oak State Park and Lodge.  

Activities, Projects, and Accomplishments: 

  • Assisted with Arbor Day tree planting 
  • Puts on the Halloween Spooktacular 
  • Assists the Naturalist 
  • Spearheaded new Lake-to-Lodge trail starting behind the lodge raising funds to landscape and place benches along the trail including hand-laid stone fire pits 
  • Boat Flotilla at the lodge docks and Lake-to-Lodge trail 
  • Sponsors the Fall and Winter Mixer 
  • Provides snacks and water stations for the Western Reserve Racing trail marathon 
  • With a grant from the Friends for the Preservation of Ohio State Parks (FPOSP) hired a chainsaw artist to carve the 8-foot-tall Burr Oak leaf near the lodge entrance on State Route 78.
