Friends of Scioto Trail

An autumn scene of the Scioto river with fall color trees in the background along with the Scioto trail.

The Friends of Scioto Trail State Park, established in 2007, holds events throughout the year and works closely with the park staff on various projects. Some of the projects we have completed at the park include:

  • Church Hollow Electric Project - We partnered with Horizon and AEP to add electric to 15 camp sites
  • Purchased a security system for the camp store
  • Purchased a shelter for events and programs
  • Supplied material for an Eagle Scout project to revamp the theater
  • Purchased a new sound system for the theater
  • Purchased archery equipment to run an archery program and to team up with our naturalist
  • We provide flowers and mulch, every year, for the flowerbeds throughout the park
    And more.

The friends group always encourages everyone to enjoy the great outdoors, and whole-heartedly believes the best place to visit is the Scioto Trail State Park, or to quote a park visitor " Southern Ohio's Best Kept Secret."
