Discounts on Camping & Lodging

Program Requirements

The use of any discount card or discount program is limited to the single site or cabin that will be occupied by the person that the discount card or discount program was issued to.
The cardholder (primary occupant) must occupy the site. Cardholder (primary occupant) must be present at check in.
Discount cardholder cannot use any discount card or discount program to pay for the site or cabin of another person(s).
Proof of discount is required upon arrival. Customer will be charged an additional fee if unable to provide proof.
Discount cannot be used in combination with other discounts or promotions, unless specifically approved by Ohio State Parks.
Customers can use the Ohio State Parks Reward Card with any discount, so they may earn points for the stay or redeem points.

Discounts for Camping or Lodging

Golden Buckeye Card

Must be a resident of Ohio.

50% discount off camping fees, Sunday through Thursday.
10% discount off camping fees, Friday and Saturday.
10% discount off total rate for all other Overnight Rentals and Day Use.
Reservations must show the cardholder as the occupant of the site. Cardholder must be present and show the card at check in.
Customer must provide a valid Golden Buckeye Card number at time of reservation to apply discount. If the customer doesn’t have a card number, the customer must pay in full. The discount may be applied up until your arrival date either by doing a modification online or through the call center.

VA Disability/POW

Free camping for Ohio residents who are former prisoners of war or who are honorably discharged veterans with a permanent and total disability as determined by the Veterans Administration.
Customers will pay the $6.50 reservation fee.
Qualified individuals will either have an Ohio POW license plate or an Ohio Disabled Veteran license plate or a letter from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs stating that they are permanently and totally disabled and receiving compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Qualifying Ohio resident veterans may request a letter confirming their eligibility for free camping in Ohio State Parks by calling Veterans Affairs at 1-800-827-1000.
This discount is only available for reservations made through the call center. Customers cannot make online reservations using the Disabled Veteran Discount.
Can only be used for campsites.
Cannot use discount on multiple sites for same time period.

Active/Retired Military Discount

Discount Amount: 10% off every night of the week for all overnight facilities. No restriction on home state for military customers.
Can only be used on one site per time period.

Resort Lodges

Wildlife Legacy Stamp Discount

Those holding the Ohio Wildlife Legacy stamp receive a 25 percent discount off their lodge room or cabin. Valid stamps must be presented upon check-in. The discount is available for advance reservations and those walking in to the lodges. Some blackout dates and restrictions apply.

The Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp allows wildlife enthusiasts the opportunity to directly impact the future of Ohio’s native animals. For $15 they receive a collectible stamp, pin, window cling and commemorative card. The stamp proceeds support habitat restoration, land purchases and conservation easements; protect endangered and threatened native species; create educational products for students and wildlife enthusiasts; and help fund wildlife and habitat research projects.
