Bridle Camps
Eighteen Ohio State Park campgrounds and five Ohio State Forests offer overnight accommodations for horseback riders who enjoy camping after a beautiful trail ride.
Bridle Camping in State Parks
Most areas are primitive, but some offer features also found at our campgrounds. Generally, bridle camp areas offer a variety of amenities for both our two-legged and four-legged guests including water, latrines, posts and tie-ups for horses and plenty of room for parking trailers and other equipment.
All bridle campsites require reservations in advance and amenities vary. Trail maps can be accessed by visiting the state park and state forest pages.
Bridle Camping in State Forests
The Ohio Division of Forestry offers an array of bridle trails suitable for novice as well as more experienced riders. Riders will enjoy the beauty of the forest as they ride past scenic vistas and through cool hollows. Horse camps offer latrines, water for horses at some locations, and horse ties.
