Tar Hollow State Park Campground

Registered campers should check-in upon arrival at the General Store. Check-in starts at 3pm; check-out is 10am. Quiet hours are observed from 11pm to 7am.

Campsites

The family-friendly campground offers Electric and Non-electric sites with varying degrees of shade. Suitability of a site to accommodate RVs or campers is noted on the reservation website. Some non-electric sites are Tent Only because of their dimensions or other site conditions. Pets are permitted on all camping sites.

Cedar Cabins

Three large Cedar Cabins in the campground accommodate 8 to 12 people overnight and offer bedrooms and bunks plus some amenities no tent, trailer, or RV needed. Check the details for each site when you make your reservation.

  • Bunk bed arrangement in each Cedar Cabin varies (sleeps 8, 10 or 12 guests)

Sherman Cabins

Two Sherman Cabins offer the same amenities as the Cedar Cabins but are smaller and only sleep 4. One Sherman Cabin is ADA compliant. Check details when you make your reservation.

Group Camping

Seven Group Camp sites allow up to 20 campers each. Each site has an open shelterhouse with three picnic tables. Some shelters have fireplaces, some have electric, some have grills. Check the details when you make your reservations.

Primitive Camping

Primitive Sites along the Logan Backpack Trail are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register and pay in advance at the General Store (seasonally) or Park Office in Tar Hollow State Park.

  • Hike-in, tent camping only
  • $4/adult per night; $1/child per night
  • Sites are located near the fire tower (Tar Hollow State Forest) in the center of the Logan Backpack Trail figure-eight.
  • All sites are carry-in/carry out
  • Pit latrines are located near the fire tower.
