Horsepower Restrictions for Boats on Inland Lakes

This is not a complete list of horsepower restrictions for all Ohio waterways. This list contains information on waterways with state-adopted horsepower restrictions. Waterways listed with an asterisk do not have state-adopted regulations, but are horsepower limited as listed based on the most recent information we have received from the managing agency.

There are hundreds of additional waterways in the state of Ohio where the local agency or organization that manages a waterway establishes area-specific rules that have not been requested for adoption by the state.

If you are unsure of boating rules on a local body of water it is always prudent to check with the local city, township, county, or other governing body to find out what local restrictions might be in place.
