Environmental Education at Old Woman Creek

Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve, within the ODNR Office of Coastal Management, provides education programs focused on wetland ecology, watersheds, invasive species and related topics upon request for teachers, public and private school groups and college and university classes. In-water experiences are available as well as classroom and field-based options. Our programs meet Ohio Academic Science Standards and resource materials are made available to educators prior to on-site programs.

Reservations for programs must be made at least three months in advance to allow adequate time for planning and scheduling of education staff and trained volunteers.

Example offerings:

  • Understanding Climate Impacts on Wildlife
  • Great Lakes Aquatic Invasive Species
  • Comparing & Contrasting Estuaries Around the U.S.
  • Water Pollution
  • Wetlands Ecology
  • Habitat Loss and Wildlife
