Colvin is a graduate of The Ohio State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. She worked at the Ohio Senate for nine years as a page, legislative aide and policy advisor. She was the director of legislative affairs at ODNR for 4.5 years. She then served as the director of policy and legislative affairs at the Ohio Department of Education for 2.5 years.
Colvin is a graduate of the 2012 Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute, which empowers and coaches female business and civic leaders to assume more prominent roles, elected or appointed, in government and politics. She is also a volunteer and family sidekick at Flying Horse Farms in Morrow County, which provides fun, transformative, outdoor recreational camp experiences for children with serious illnesses and their families free of charge. Colvin is a native of Montgomery County.
