Mike Budzik began his current position as the Outreach Coordinator at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in January 2019. In this position, Budzik acts as a liaison between the Department and Governor Mike DeWine and communicates with sportsmen and conservation club leaders statewide.
Budzik originally started working at ODNR in 1975 as a conservation aid with the Division of Wildlife and eventually worked his way up to chief, serving in that role for seven years before retiring. He earned his associate’s degree in the applied science of recreation and wildlife from Hocking College, where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the National Rifle Association, Hocking County Fish & Game Club, National Wild Turkey Federation, League of Ohio Sportsmen, and a lifetime member of the Lansing Sportsman’s Club.
A native of Shadyside in Belmont County, Budzik is an avid sportsman, active in his local church, and has been happily married since 1976 to his wife Melodee, with whom he shares two daughters, Manda and Michele.
