Friends of Ohio State Parks

Support Ohio State Parks by joining one of our Friends groups.

Friends Groups are important partnerships with ODNR. Most groups are dedicated to general park support while others focus on specific features or activities within the park such as mountain biking, hiking trails, or even sailing.

Friends for the Preservation of Ohio State Parks (FPOSP)

Logo for FPOSPFPOSP acts as an overarching support for the parks and groups within the parks. Their stated mission is to “support, promote, and preserve all state parks and other parks in the state of Ohio.”

Friends for the Preservation of Ohio State Parks

  • connects groups across the state,
  • helps keep groups up-to-date on park issues,
  • provide support for obtaining 501(c)3 status,
  • help organize new groups,
  • offer small, competitive grants to support park projects, and
  • hosts a symposium to provide an opportunity for groups to network and exchange ideas.

If you are interested in more information or are a current Friends Group member who would like to serve on the FPOSP board, contact President Bill Martin at fposp.president@gmail.com.

Listed below are the active Friends Groups currently helping Ohio State Parks & Watercraft provide top-notch and always free recreational amenities to all Ohioans and visitors to our great state. If you want to start a Friends Group in your area, contact the park manager.
