With your support, we can make our parks even better.
From the beautiful shores and islands of Lake Erie, through the rolling hills of the Hocking Valley, all the way to the waters of the great Ohio River, the Buckeye State is a magical place.
Nationally, interest and participation in outdoor activities, especially camping, hiking, and kayaking, is on the rise. Each year, hundreds of thousands of visitors enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, biking, swimming, boating and much, much more at Ohio State Parks.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is proud that Ohio is one of only seven states in the nation to provide free admission to state parks. The state parks system is an important component of Ohio’s tourism industry and serves as a key economic driver for local communities.
Established in 2021, the Ohio State Parks Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization that supports Ohio’s State Parks by enhancing projects, activities, and programs of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Foundation will:
- Partner with ODNR to improve, build, and preserve Ohio State parks.
- Advocate for Ohio State parks and programs.
- Recruit and engage stakeholders and supporters.
- Lead fundraising efforts to advance ODNR’s mission, programs and infrastructure.
The Ohio State Parks Foundation is committed to supporting Ohio State Parks by enhancing our treasured outdoors spaces for safe, high-quality recreational experiences for all visitors through continued investment.
