Shawnee State Park Campground

NOTE: Off-peak Camping Season is Nov 1-Apr 1. Many campgrounds reduce the number of sites and services available in winter. Off-peak season can extend into April or May for some parks due to colder climates. "View More" for Winter Camping details.

Shawnee State Park offers two different campgrounds. Reservations may be made up to six months in advance online or by calling (866) 644-6727.

Turkey Creek Campground

Located off of State Route 152 near Roosevelt Lake [Driving Directions]

  • Water filling station
  • Heated shower houses, flush toilets, and laundry facilities
  • Boat rentals (for Turkey Creek Lake or Roosevelt Lake )from Camp Office
  • Games & sporting equipment available on loan to registered campers, from the Camp Office.
  • Miniature golf, playground, and amphitheater near the Camp Office.
  • Hiking trails, basket ball court, volleyball court

Campsites

The heavily wooded Turkey Creek Campground offers electric and non-electric sites, suitable for tents or trailers. 

  • 86 Electric sites
  • 21 Non-electric sites; some sites are suitable for tents only due to terrain; check site details when making reservations.
  • Pets are permitted on all sites.
  • Check site details carefully when you make your reservation as dimensions and site conditions vary.

Camper Cabins

Two camper cabins are available in Turkey Creek Campground, with limited furnishings. One is ADA accessible.

  • Each sleeps six
  • Mini-fridge, microwave, kitchen table.
  • Bring your own linen and bedding.
  • Pets are not permitted in the Camper Cabins. 

Group Camp

One group camp in the Turkey Creek Campground can accommodate a group of up to 35 people. 

  • Fully shaded
  • Primitive camping (no electric)
  • Pets allowed
  • Five picnic tables
  • Within 100 yards of the campground shower house

Ohio River Campground & Marina

Several camp sites are available in the Ohio River Campground, accessed from US Route 52 near the Marina. Upgrades and expanded amenities are planned for 2022. [Driving Directions]

Equestrian Camp — Shawnee State Forest

A 58-site primititve equestrian campground with latrines is available near Bear Lake in Shawnee State Forest.
